     Born & raised in midwestern roots of Fargo, ND, Tim has worked in a variety of environments throughout his life - playing with 'bar bands' & Montreux Jazz Festival in high school, composing & arranging in Los Angeles & midwest US after college, leading & working as a sideman in musical groups in a variety of settings and periodically as a guitarist with country singer Paulette Carlson.

    At Berklee, he studied guitar with Tim Miller & film music composition with Richard Davis & Sheldon Mirowitz.  Upon graduating in 2005, he spent time in Los Angeles working in film music post-production as a freelance composer, arranger, music editor, copyist, and personal assistant.  A sampling of his classical guitar playing can be heard throughout the original score in the award-winning short film "My Backyard Was a Mountain" by fellow Berklee alum & composer Carlos José Alvarez.

     Throughout 2010-2013, he was musical director & guitarist/vocalist for "Dakota Air: The Radio Show" - a touring, stage, radio show aired on Prairie Public Broadcasting.  The show featured a talented cast of scriptwriters, actors, house musicians, and featured regional & nationally-recognized entertainers throughout concert halls & venues in the midwest.  It was a diverse performance & musical experience incorporating original arrangements & compositions from folk, bluegrass, rock, classical, pop, jazz, Americana, Broadway, film, TV, radio and much more, with unique content each show.

     He has worked extensively otherwise throughout the midwest and US as a guitarist, composer & arranger with performances and sideman work for local & national artists, weddings, parties, events as well as a featured songwriter/performer for the 2012 ND Governor's Inauguration.  He led instrumental pop-jazz group The Elevators & in 2013 had the opportunity to return as a featured guest performer with Fargo South High Jazz band.

     From 2010-2014, he was Jazz Guitar Instructor at North Dakota State University and additionally has taught guitar lessons privately for over 15 years, seeing a few students also go on to graduate from Berklee.  His approach to teaching involves developing creative & technical skills for practical application in playing many different styles of music.  In 2013, he was also fortunate to spend a week at International Music Camp teaching guitar and as part of their Garage Band program.

     He currently continues  to work as a BMI-affiliated composer, guitarist & musician now based out of Keaau, HI.  Some of his original works are available to license from Transition Music Corporation.

     Tim was also certified by ASQ as a Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB) during work as a senior systems engineer from 2007 - 2014 at Here Technologiesone of the leading map & location-based services companies - largely while they were a subsidiary of Nokia.

     While working on Here's worldwide MfG/Operations team, his assignments included process ownership, design & continuous improvement efforts across various projects for international production teams and were predominately focused around public transit & premium 2D/3D visual product integration into processes, interfaces & product releases for maps & services seen in everyday application & use around the world today.  He regularly traveled throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and Central America to work and coordinate with many workgroups within the organization, sometimes serving as Product Owner on projects in an Agile environment.

     In 2014, he left Here & took time off from other work to travel, run & camp around U.S., visiting 35 of 50 states over the course of a year.  While traveling he found a home on the Big Island of Hawaii, where he resumed freelance work as a composer, arranger, performer, instructor and is developing & maintaining an orchard.
